The Papaya Challenge

Papaya’s goal was to simplify, modernize and speed up the bill payment process for Americans, from utility bills, medical expenses, parking tickets and much more. The ultimate goal was to create an application that could interpret different types of bills through photos and process the payment seamlessly.

The Luby solutions integrated into this project:

Banking Evolution

Initially, Papaya offered its services through an app developed for the IOS system, which was limited to users of that operating system and prevented it from reaching a significant portion of the American market.

With a team of mobile developers and a product owner (PO), we worked to develop an Android app that would make the operation even more robust while maintaining the essence of the solution. We paid attention to the usability and development peculiarities of a new operating system.

The project’s day-to-day activities involved the use of agile methodologies such as Scrum. Through its ceremonies and practices, we actively participated in product planning, always in collaboration with the client.

As a result, we were able to enhance the existing product, complementing Papaya’s offering not only in terms of technology, but also in terms of functionalities that became essential for the business.

Finance Outsourcing

With sufficient maturity to internalize development, Papaya took a significant step in its business and formed a team to continue the evolution of the product.

However, with a focus on application support, it continued to rely on Luby’s support through our finance outsourcing. We put together a multidisciplinary team to strategically help the client maintain its applications. Our adaptability was critical in providing Papaya with the ideal service for each stage of their business.
